Little Rapids Corporation, a leading manufacturer and marketer of products for the healthcare, beauty and specialty paper markets has acquired Larsen Converting Industries, Inc. Larsen Converting is a paper converting and flexographic printing company. Both companies’ headquarters are based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
“This is a positive, strategic acquisition for Little Rapids. Larsen is an exceptional company and will make us stronger, said Kirk Ryan, Little Rapids Corporation’s president and CEO. “This acquisition is also good news for the area’s economy. We will continue to operate Larsen’s two manufacturing facilities, which will increase our total area employment to approximately 425.”
“The Larsen workforce has distinguished itself as a highly skilled and service-oriented group,” said John Wirch, Little Rapids Corporation’s vice president of human resources. “The team’s focus on quality, safety and service is a real attraction to us going forward.We are proud to have that group as part of our organization.”
Mr. Ryan added that Larsen Converting is a great fit for Little Rapids.“Larsen has an excellent history and reputation in the converting industry. This is a major step forward for Little Rapids and will help us achieve our growth plans.”
Little Rapids Corporation was founded by Charles Egan in 1947 and remains a family-owned business. The company’s core product lines serve the medical and beauty market segments under the Graham Professional brand, and the specialty paper market under the Shawano Specialty Papers brand. With headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Green Bay, the company, which employs 365, also has a paper manufacturing facility in Shawano, Wisconsin. In addition, the company donates regularly to the Egan Foundation, a private foundation established by the Egan family in 1986 with the mission to fund charities in communities where Little Rapids Corporation has facilities.
Larsen Converting was founded in 1992 by Donald Larsen III. The company has enjoyed extraordinary growth and now has eight flexographic printing presses with 10-color capability. The firm has two manufacturing facilities, one in Green Bay and another in Ashwaubenon.
